Study visit on “Food Safety and Quality Assurance” has been successfully completed in USA from 29 August to 7 September 2019.  A seven member team headed by Mr. Abdul Mannan, MP,  Bogura-1 as well as the honorable member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee of Ministry of Agriculture. Among others Mr. Md. Muslem Uddin, MP, Mymensingh-6 and honorable member of the Parliament Standing Committee of Ministry of Agriculture; Mr. Md. Ashraf Uddin Ahmed, Additional Secretary (Director General, Seed wing), Ministry of Agriculture; Dr. Md. Kabir Ikramul Haque, Executive Chairman, BARC; Dr. Shaikh Mohammad Bokhtiar, Member Director (P&E), BARC and Dr. Mian Sayeed Hassan, Director, PIU-BARC, NATP-2 were the participants.

The team visited USDA, Washington DC, Joint Institute for Food Safety And Applied Nutrition (JIFSAN) & Food Safety Innovation Lab at Cornell University, New York. The team produced Safety Alliance with Local Government Management Association (LGMA), Los Angels and video conferencing with California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA). Besides, team visited some local Agricultural Markets. In the visit, food safety rules, regulations and field level activity have been discussed with number of power point presentations and bi-lateral discussions. These visits made some important understanding about the food safety and quality in the field of agriculture which is expected to be implemented in Bangladesh.
